In a struggle of life or death, I'd want him on my team.

He will be revered in Israel, although not universally.
His achievements as a soldier in the Six Day and Yom Kippur wars were truly great. His achievements as a politician are less than great.
Right thinking folk don't have much time for those that are involved, directly or indirectly, with the the massacre of innocents.
