Everton midfielder Gareth Barry refusing to give up on England.

Gareth Barry hopes the door to an England recall remains open, with the World Cup still very much in his thoughts.

The 32-year-old midfielder offered another timely reminder of his talents to national coach Roy Hodgson on Saturday with a star showing against Norwich City.

Barry opened the scoring in spectacular style against the Canaries, and Hodgson will have left Goodison Park impressed by what he saw.

He has, however, overlooked a man with 53 caps to his ever since a groin injury ruled him out of Euro 2012.

Barry concedes that others have edged ahead of him in the Three Lions pecking order at present, but intends to keep himself in contention for a seat on the plane to Brazil this summer.

He said: "Yes, I'll definitely still be available. I've not spoken to the manager since I got injured after the Euros, so we will see.

"The manager knows about my game, so it's not like I'm young and coming through
