Edit - Not sure I agree about them not having the songs. Off the top of my head...

    Digital
    Shes Lost Control
    A Means to an End
    Twenty Four Hours
    Shadowplay
    Transmission
    Isolation
    Ceremony
    Dead Souls
    Love Will Tear Us Apart

That's a f*cking magic set list at any sized venue, even if I do say so myself
Crossed wires here. I like Joy Division but their music would have been wasted on that audience.

I normally disagree with all the pish that EastStand_Elite posts, but he's bang on the money this time.

Personally, I can't stand Queen or U2. Queen were certainly set up for that type of gig though. Any gig in the mid 80s was unlikely to be any good due to the popular music at the time (sh*te).

I can't imagine Joy Division connecting with a stadium full of people or a worldwide audience of millions. Perhaps the Africans would've voluntarily topped themselves if they'd heard Joy Division?

I hope that wasn't too patronising or condescending for anyone.
