Personally hope we dont get Lambert.
Would be a signing based on hoping he can help us stay up but if not then he could help us come right back up.
Lets try building a squad. Getting someone like Vokes, Rhodes, Ings would be better.
Another Ex Wolves relegation player.
West Ham United*have reportedly baulked at the wages*Rickie Lambert*would demand if he were to join the club.
The Hammers were heavily linked with the*Southampton*centre-forward during the summer and are thought to be plotting another bid this month.
However, the West Ham board were shocked to learn that the England international would want £75,000 per week to sign on at Upton Park, according to the*Daily Mail.
The report added that the East Londoners would be willing to pay the 31-year-old up to £50,000 each week, should they be able to agree a fee with the Saints.
If no deal can be reached, it is thought that Allardyce may turn his attention to*Sunderland*frontman*Steven Fletcher. - view external link

lets hope after Tuesday sam gets the push and we can all celebrate getting what we hoped for
75k a week ? No way. If we go down, unless we sell Andy Carroll we'd be stuck with his wages and gambling everything on going back up at first time of asking.
And I can't see any club fighting relegation selling a player to a relegation rival. Possibly Stoke may be the exception if you class them as not safe but I wouldn't want Kenwyne Jones anyway.
Agree re Lambert. Grant Holt Mark 2 imo. Made an impact first season in the PL, found out in his second. Not to mention expensive and with little or no sell on value. Bad business.Originally Posted by JimmyV66
Lamberts a good player, but I dont think he adds much more than we already have. 6 league goals and 5 assists from 22 starts is hardly prolific.
I'd prefer to try again with someone like Rhodes, who could play off Cole or Carroll this year and worst case for next, if we take the drop, isnt going to break the bank, and is a proven championship scorer. He should chip in with 10-15 in the premiuer league (unproven) in a full season.
I dont want us to get mugged off on an ageing/ overpaid striker (again).
yep, says it for me about Lambert.Originally Posted by 1Greeno
Yeah! As Palerider says...we could get stuck with Kenwyne Jones as well.
Didn't the Chuckles offer an ageing Van Nistlerooy 100k a week in desperation under the golem?
Come January 31st with no-one recruited I could see Jim White announce it at 10.59
Lambert is not for sale, as are none of our other players not for sale.
KJ will go on strike when you go down so best not waste more cash.
