Thread: David Connolly

    David Connolly

Reckon he's one of our best players but, sadly, have heard rumours that he may be off soon. May be old news but appears he doesn't hit it off with RB.

RB was saying last week he liked a smaller squad where the players were expected to be able to play large numbers of games.. that would rule out Connolly unless he is used as an impact player. A pity there is no room for our classiest forward.. hard work isn't a substitute for talent.
Managers do use their talented but less robust players sparingly... Kanu here for instance, Ledley King at Spurs... there is still a place for them. They also bring experience and nous to a team.

He's 36 and his intermittent appearances due to lack of fitness says it all unforunately. Don't know what's happened about his coaching role though.

He did write that he was no longer coaching here.

Big Pat or Connolly to go ? I can understand RB letting one of them go but with our record with injuries I hope it is only one of those two.
