Next up... A very tough March

Now we've reached last years total points it is time to look onwards and upwards.

I think March will define our season. If we can get 10-11 points from the 7 games next month it puts us on 71-72. We then play 7 teams we haven't lost to, winning 6 and drawing 1. If we can get 15 points from them it puts us on 86-87 and I think 2nd.

What's your score predictions for March?

    I'm going for

    A Burnley - L
    H Millwall - W
    H Bolton - W
    A Xxxxxxx - L
    H Xxxxxx - D
    A Xxxxxx - D
    H Xxxxxxx - W

    = 11 points

tough march indeed. I think McClaren is right to say he's still looking over his shoulder and not above us.

    Nah. Mourinho style kidology.

If we're going for the playoffs he'd have played for the draw today. Despite what he says the Press he's looking upwards ... The tactics give away his real thoughts.

I thought his tactics to day showed that he felt confident enough about our position in the playoffs - lets face it 3rd or 6th makes no difference as long as your in those positions - that he could go for the win which would keep us in contention for 2nd. A draw would have seen us lose ground.

For me the defining game will be against Burnley - win or draw that and we are realistically in with a chance of the automatic slot still, lose and I'd say the playoffs are where we are destined unless Burnley come unstuck.

happy days anyway to be even talking about automatic promotion as a possibility.

Burnley have a relatively straightforward March but a tougher April. If we are within maybe 7 points at end of March, we still have a chance.

We've been saying these things all season:

    "Next game is tough"
"Next month will define our season"
"Next 2 weeks will show how good / bad we are"

We've had all expectation bashed out of us these last 6 - 7 years we don't fancy ourselves against anyone, and are just waiting for the bubble to burst!

It will be ok, enjoy the ride

I just think we are being realistic of course some people, mentioning nos are convinced that there has been no improvement at all since McClaren took over as we only beat top 6 teams when they are on a slump and are now not swatting bottom half teams aside!

It seems very likely that we will finish top 6, so its nice to be speculating the chance of automatic promotion, come the end of March we will most likely know our destiny.

Have you actually looked at the fixtures or are you just making things up?

Straightforward March, aye okay if you say so.

So just purely looking at the facts:

    Before and After

    Fester - 1-0(h)/1-2(a) then 1-4(a) = Worse
    Brightown south coast - 2-1(a) then 1-0(h) = Worse
    Blackburn - 1-1(h) then 1-1(a) = Same
    Orville - 3-0(a) then 3-2(h)= Worse

To date show me one that shows a before and after improvement

    FACTs my friend are FACTs
