Aye that's right it was all about ra rainjurs.

As explained to you, Fergus had a falling out with Wim Jansen who then left and the Celtic support let their feelings be known about that plus the fact they felt he was being tight with the cash.

He could've handled the Wim Jansen stuff better and should never have had Jock Brown at the club but that aside he ran the club correctly as history has proved.

cant really add much to whats already been said and agree with most of it.

i do think that the majority of celtic fans did appreciate what fergus done, the downside and dissapointment at the time was that fergus didnt spend more on the team to stop rangers winning 9 in a row, but he didnt create the situation that won rangers the first 6 in a row.

as for those booing him, fans sometimes get things wrong, i mean look at buns, little grasp of reality and whore thierselves to anyone who mentions spending or rangersitis.

fergus created the modern celtic and had us at one point getting crowds of 60,000 per home game with potentially another 10,000 who could have been there, not bad for a club to this day has averaged 25,000 per league game historically.

incidently is trying to oust your opponent a reaction to what theyre doing, does it really matter, funny how buns continue with double standards.

I was really annoyed at the time when he was booed by a lot of fans but these things happen sometimes and most fans now with hindsight realise now just what an important person he was and that he truely is a Celtic great and booing him at the time for not spending the cash looks silly now.
