Midfield at Spurs - what midfield ?

With Cork & Wanyama already sidelined through injury, the last thing needed was an injury to Schneiderlin..

Perhaps one or two of the younglings might get a taste of the action alongside Davis on Sunday.. - view external link

Assuming those three are injured I'd start like this (any news on if Lovren's found his balls??) Would love to see how we'd cope with such a young ENGLISH team and to see how Chambers would do at CB...

    Boruc

    Clyne - Chambers - Lovren - Shaw

    Reed - Ward Prowse

    Lallana - Ramirez - Rodriguez

    Lambert

I'm sure Chambers would do just fine - he's got all of the attributes to make a quality centre-back..

Might have a slight concern over the defensive capabilities of the deeper midfield pairing, though - the tireless Davis dropping back to partner JWP might offer a bit more resilience.

Either way, your sample selection is not so far wide of the mark - looks great with so much English talent on show, and not so far from fielding an all English starting IX (a la Villa, IIRC)

On the plus side, that article says that Guly is a doubt.

It's got to be JWP and Davis in the middle for me.

'Midfield? We haven't got a Midfield'

I give it 5 minutes before the fans with no song copy it

If spuds don't start well, I'd give it five minutes before their fans turn on Sherwood. That would help our cause, and it wouldn't be the first time we'd sung "you're getting sacked in the morning" to a spuds manager at WHL
