Some, if not most, charitable "contributions" have their roots in highly personal circumstances.

Two (2) highly perceptive comments Judd. I became an enthusiastic contributor to cancer charities when my sister came down with the disease. Our family lost quite a few members in the wars, so when my uncle was Secretary of his local British Legion I used to help him make and sell poppies. My daughter went further, climbing Ben Nevis for sponsorship, and putting on a one-woman performance at a University theatre in Salford to raise even more funds to fight cancer. When it comes to charity I'm more the reactive sort because it targets money where I think it's most needed. Not 10% though. What am I supposed to be? An mormon?
