    I appreciate what you are saying. But it's the hops, mainly, that define the taste of ale. So getting to know the hops that produce your* preferred taste is nothing out off of the ordinary.

    You may off a preferred bass string manufacturer that produces just that depth of tone you seek. Or certain lipids in your skin products.

    Most good brewers now display thes of the hops used in the brew on the pump clip, which is helpful.
