In summary though, there are two distinct issues here. The actions (or inactions) of various interest groups that resulted in the tragedy and the follow up which sought to deny responsibility or cover up responsibility for a part in the tragedy.

The police cover up has now been exposed for what it was. They can no longer deny culpability. The ticketless fans role has also been exposed (read some of the Liverpool fans own witness statements in the official report linked above if you don't believe it). Yet culpability remains denied it seems as it's more convenient to blame the bizzies.

i don't feel like I'm qualified enough to comment on what happened on the day. I don't know enough about it. regardless of who made mistake and who's to blame we can all agree it was a horrific tragedy.

I agree with sentiments of many posters on this board though. everyone needs to move on. the people of Liverpool and many others have the right to mourn and never forget. the anniversary getting mentioned is to be expected.

I just think when we get to the point of delaying kick offs for every game in the country, I'm sorry but that's absolutely ridiculous. what exactly does that achieve? we have a minutes silence to remember those that didn't come home - surely that is respect and remembrance?

I just think with issues like this, you have to be careful not to ram it down people's throats. delaying kick offs in my opinion was taking the whole thing too far.

history is history. we learn from it. we remember. we respect. we also need to move on.

Some of us learn from it Rapid, the Liverpool fans didn't.

When I went onto the BBC football website and saw every single game for the championship and the prem changed (didn't check the lower leagues) I thought it was extreme.

And B+W, you think my post was disgusting? I may not put my opinion across as eloquently and diplomatic as others, but for the most the sentiment is the same. We should all know the truth about the police and the Liverpool fans themselves should take some of the responsibility.

Can't believe this is happening but agree with the last three posters (and most others in this thread) but rather than move on there seems a grown frenzy each year to over sentimentalise this.

The point quite a few have made is the Liverpool fans have never learnt from this tragedy ... These are the ones that should have above any others.

So by going over the too with this for them now I think actually encourages them to just carry on. It hasn't changed anything for them in their behaviour so why should the rest of the football world be expected to. And why are the Bradford fans second class citizens in all this?
