    Hamstrung Distin To Have Scan

Blues to check on Distin injury.

Everton will send defender Sylvain Distin on a hamstring injury picked up during the 2-0 win over Manchester United at Goodison Park today.

The French defender was substituted at half time by Antolin Alcaraz and manager Martinez says he hopes he acted quickly enough to prevent any serious injury to the talismanic defender.

Martinez said: "Sylvain will have a scan tomorrow. He felt his hamstring. I just hope we pulled him out of the game just in time."

"If it's damaged, it will be difficult for him to play again this season. But, if not, maybe within a week or 10 days he will be fine."

He's played a lot of football for us this year and he's been brilliant. Alcaraz came on yesterday, slotted in fine, looked sharp and didn't put a foot wrong - in fact he got forward and held at back quicker than Distin does. Nice to know we have brick walls spare.
