Thread: Summer transfer rumours talk

    re: Summer transfer rumours talk

Whatmough and Wallace, its well know that Fulham and a few others are sniffing around them, giving their age A?6m is on the low side, look at Smalling.

You owe as said in a report recently, A?30m for your traing ground, A?27m in transfer fees plus a BVI loan.

Who you got worth a bob after Shaw, Chambers gone?

Oh yes, of course you'll get 6million for a player who's played once for an England youth team. Smalling was a 20 year old England under 21 international who already had Premier League experience. And yes, this is the Whatmough who was embarrassed when he was part of the defence that conceded 7 against Saints earlier this season. Jed Wallace - he's probably your best player, but to say he's worth 6million is laughable.

Your argument that apart from Luke Shaw and Chambers, who do we have - let me tell you . . . we currently have Harrison Reed, Sam Gallagher and Matt Targett in the England u-19s, Josh Sims in the u-17s, and James Ward-Prowse in the u-21s. That's is quite the hotbed of talent; all far better than your dismal best prospect. Not to mention Callum Slattery who Wenger is ALREADY sniffing around for amongst others.

Our 30million on stadium and 27million on transfers might be helped somewhat by the 80million in TV rights we're about to see

Someone walked straight into that little wind up.

But just a point regarding your last sentence. Pretty much everyone else in the Prem will get 80m too, but not everyone has to pay 57m on debts. That's why in the Prem playing field you will not be 8th this time next season.

    Agreed.

    Some teams have greater debts.

Will struggle with a young team and forgotton players.

    Relegation beckons.

Seems like thier famed academy is the albatros around thier neck.

We may be League two but we are debt free with 2 players who will command Ai6m next season. Onwards and upwards saying how do you do as we pass you by.
What a thick misinformed bitter pincher of charity money you are. Feck me!! Look at the bitter skates crawling over this thread seething with blind jealousy, it makes me even more proud of the smart successful and highly professional football club I support

Debt Free ... yeah, having ripped off everyone for hundreds of millions not to mention all those teams you cheated with players you couldn't afford.
I almost feel sorry for genuine fans who must shudder at posts like that.

Very true. Southampton has one of the healthiest financial situations in the Premier League, as you can see from The Guardian's analysis of all of the top clubs: - view external link

    Before the green eyed brigade start poking around a couple of things from that;

...The stand-out figure in these unsurprisingly sensible-looking accounts is the AŁ2.129m salary paid to the parent company's sole director, Nicola Cortese. In a sport marked by vast sums paid to chief executives, this was the highest in 2012-13 ...

    And from QPR

... Fernandes sanctioned huge expenditure for new manager Mark Hughes in 2012, then Harry Redknapp in January 2013, which did not stave off relegation. The result is the AŁ65m loss ...

Now where have I heard something like that before?
