The club must be doing something right.

Many amateur scribes have been more than critical about how, and where the club spends it money.

An article in last evenings E&S had one such scribe in the comments section, bemoaning Mr Morgan. He was intimating that he should open his wallet and splash the cash like Manchester City had done. He went pontificating on about how they used to be a poor team and now they were the best.

Obviously totally oblivious about the Fair Play Rules! While no mention was made in his rant, about the impending fifty million pound fine.
He left few stones unturned in his total ignorance of finance. Even the academy, that Sir jack had initiated came under fire.

In a pub vote if the question was asked: Which club has the best academy? Arsenal and Liverpool would no doubt appear in the answers.

Well on April 28th 2014 our under eigh**** side went to Arsenal and drew 2-2. Amongst our team were two lads with only one, Brazilian style. To go to Arsenal and draw suggests the club must be doing

I believe that over the past few years it's not performed to the level we'd expect. Southampton sustain themselves in the Prem through homegrown talent and we're a bigger club than them so surely the coaching staff at the academy are under achieving ?

The club, Morgan and co want the academy to be a success. It take time for players to make the grade, and the drop down to league has given Jackett the chance to use more players that have progressed through the system. Southampton do have an academy that can be admired, but they're not just relying on those players for the first team. They have also paid out some decent money for players like Jay Rodriguez and Victor Wanyama.

The Academy must rate highly as it is attracting quality players from abroad. This one was impressive:- - view external link
