I nearly crashed the car. personally my view is that whilst two thirds of the team may have the sames on their shirts they are not the same players they were under. Nigel. I didn't catch the callers but I reckon it began with an R...any thoughts...

we should have a sweepstake on who it was that called in. some prime suspects. could it be...

    the rat
    MMI
    chilli (sorry mate)

    or the favourite...

    swales!

one things for damned sure. we wouldn't have beaten brighton 4-1 under clough. we'd have been defending from the first while with a 2-1 aggregate lead. I'm not even gonna get into the FACT we wouldn't have made the play offs anyway.[/quote]

Thats a cracking idea, which is why I rang Radio Derby to suggest it!!!

Nigel got us mid table on a mid table budget, he did ok. We would go on a good run and then teams would figure out our one dimensional play and that would be season over. He left us in mid table, with mid table quality players, and a mid table club attitude, and the fans expected mid table at best. McClaren took over and instantly transformed that mid table team into the third best team in the division with the only consistent addition to the team throughout that time being Andre Wisdom. The play is quicker and more incisive, the defence is tighter, and he has instilled a positivity into the club that has been missing for years. McClaren came in while confidence was decent and the club was in a healthy financial state which was helped by Nigel, but is mostly down to the ownership group not spending silly money. Yes Nigel did ok for us, but us being in third place is not his doing at all, it is the people who are at the club NOW that have got us in this position, and nobody else deserve

Do you not remember our wage budget getting published a few weeks ago? it certainly wasn't mid table.

I said Budget, not Wage Budget. I bet Sammon isnt on a mid table wage, nor was he a mid table transfer fee either.
