Thread: Sinatra/Millers theme tune ?

    Sinatra/Millers theme tune ?

At the moment we`re strugling to have our own "Rotherham" song, but after Sunday it`s obvious that we have one already,New York,New York.
Over the last season when it was played I noticed more and more people joining in prior to kick off,and at Wembly nearly everybody sang it.
Personally I`ve never liked the song, but I must admit I had a lump in my throat on Sunday,so now is the time to claim this as our tune,we could do a lot worse.

I felt exactly the same Towner. I always hated it on match days but my friends grew to like it.

On Sunday though it just seemed to fit and there were many people who said it was now our anthem after the post match singalong.

I sung my throat out to it.

    Agreed.
"Our song" has been staring us in the face all along

Also, we can finally put to bed all the nonsense about "reclaiming" the chip buttie song.

Only takes a couple of mins to find 'em though Roly

    But here they are anyway.

We've got a couple of months, just copy and print and get practicing.

Start spreading the news, I'm leaving today
I want to be a part of it, New York, New York
These vagabond shoes, are longing to stray
Right through the very heart of it, New York, New York

I want to wake up in a city, that doesn't sleep
And find I'm king of the hill, top of the heap

These little town blues, are melting away
I'm gonna make a brand new start of it, in old New York
If I can make it there, I'll make it anywhere
It's up to you, New York, New York

    New York, New York
I want to wake up in a city, that never sleeps
To find I'm a number one, head of the list,
Cream of the crop at the top of the heap.

Totally agree, said the same thing myself after Sunday.

The rendition at the end was fantastic, and personally I think its kinda cool to have Ol' Blue Eyes linked to the Millers

Gotta be the anthem, the pre-match song should reflect the vision of the team. This song is about reaching for the stars, I remember when we used to come out to the bottom theme tune, class, but I'm almost certain we were relegated that season!
