    Brian Farmer dies.

    Aged 80 - sad news. Saw him play in my first Blues match in 1957 when he was partnered by George Allen at left back. Can't be many of that team left as for certain Johnny Schofield, Trevor Smith and Dick Neil have all gone. Don't know about Johnny Watts and a few of the others.
    Makes me realise just how old I now am. I think at that time we still used the City Coat of Arms as our badge. Perhaps another of the oldies on here can confirm that.

    I didn't know much about Brian but from what I can make out he was used as cover for Ken Green and Jeff Hall. After Hall's untimely death he took over that spot until Stan Lynn arrived. RIP

    Yes Spion I think your right the Cities coat of arms was on the club shirt in those days,a few others that come out of the memory box from that era,Ray Ferris,Bunny Larkin,Roy Warhurst,Ted Purdon(South African)Brian Orrit,Jimmy Bloomfield,Jimmy Higgins,not sure if they are still around,remember Brian Farmer RIP.
