Paul Sheerin has left Gayfield to be new youth coach at Aberdeen.

This is the rumour, but no confirmation.

Hopefully this is not true as the squad is looking good for the new season.

If Sheerin is off to Aberdeen, it's a great opportunity for the club to develop close ties with Aberdeen .

Under contract both as player and manager, I believe. Would cost Aberdeen. Hard to believe!

Hard to believe, but true. Sheerin to be under 20 coach at Aberdeen with some first team responsibilities. A great opportunity to him, but a blow for us.

He is under contract so compensation will have to be paid. Terrible timing with training about to start and some big holes still in the squad.

    Yeah it's true.

Very disappointed after we stuck by him after relegation but as a part time club we can't stand in his way of a full time contract in football.

Personally the date of 23rd April 2011 will stay with me forever, and the draw at parkhead was a nice highlight.
Someone else can pick over the bones of the negatives but for me the time with Sheerin in charge has seen us play some of the best football I've ever seen at Gayfield.
So as a club it's the close of a chapter but the door opening of a new one.

    Good luck to Sheerin.

He gave us some great memories, great performances and was one of the best players the younger generation of fans will have seen in maroon.

I think this is a good move for everyone though. We'd gone stale in the last couple of seasons and some fresh input will do us good.
