Yes, it seems very odd. John is in his 60s now. I wonder if Leeann Dempster was involved in his recruitment?

Why now? He's in his 60s and apparently lives in Edinburgh, maybe he doesn't fancy Euro travel, maybe he's had a fright looking at his pension and needs a boost, maybe he has a blood feud with Flow, maybe he's in love with Leeann. There are dozens of potential reasons, almost no one will know but I'm sure that won't stop the chatter :-)
And even if it is Leeann poaching people, there's little to be done but shrug and move on anyway.
He's more than done his bit for us and now, for whatever reason, he wants a change. I wish him well.
