I heard he was told to remove his earring and refused but only hearsay.
Anybody know why we had to take Grant off yesterday. Some conflicting info, some said he was injured some, said the ref ordered him to be subbed?

I'm pretty certain that Grant was fouled but the ref played on. Grant seemed to give the ref an earful and the ref then spoke to SD. Five minutes later Grant was subbed. If he'd carried on he would have been sent off, presumably for foul and abusive language.
Anyone know if he had been sent off whether that means he has to miss other matches? Or indeed whether this impacts on any league fixtures if anyone is sent off in the last friendly before the official start?
Grant was sent off just before the season ended for some backchat to the ref and no doubt SD would give him an earful IF this was the case. OTOH what is more likely is that SD wants to try other players and combinations and so just playing one half and not a full match at this stage of pre season.
Sendings off do carry a suspension, however some referees choose not to include sendings off in their referees report. It really is down to the individual referee as to what happens so maybe we got lucky here?Originally Posted by MikeSB
