    Arbroath v Alloa Athletic, Petrofac Training Cup R1

    Arbroath have been drawn at home to Alloa Athletic in the Petrofac Training Cup first round. The tie will take place at Gayfield on Saturday the 26th of July with a 3pm kick off.

    That's a tough start, but far from impossible.

    It would be good to get past the first round in any competition after our rotten start last season.

    The new manager will hope to make his mark with this one.

    Tough game to start the real season. They may have been in the same league as us a few seasons ago but have some quality players and their number 9 was a real threat throughout.

    Hard to judge and comment on the players today or next week, the real test will be when we line up against Berwick Rangers.
