    Why no Games ?

The main thing we don't have at the moment is match fitness so why are we not playing a game tomorrow we have had 1 friendly surely this is not enough another 90 minutes tomorrow would do a lot of good ,Are they worried about injuries as such a small squad as can't work out why we are not playing more games as closed door matches done seem the answer IMO and if we lose on Thursday night we have no more games till league starts on 9th august.

i would have thought a closed game on Monday would have been a good idea to get another 90 mins.

We are playing an Under 20s game against Stenhousemuir this weekend on their artificial pitch.

Certainly our preparation for last Thursday must be called into question with so few players having had a full 90 minutes beforehand. Surely the club is planning another bounce game before Thursday? I would think that the risk of picking up injuries is outweighed by the risk of continuing lack of fitness.

I would also think that there is a balance to be reached. Perhaps 3 games in a week at this early time of the season would mean that their lack of match fitness would be even worse of Thursday towards the end. This is why we normally have at least 3 or four friendlies under our belt before the start of the season.

Sick of all the nonsense about games played. The bottom line is the players aren't good enough. Mcall stated when we beat Aberdeen that it was great as it put us into a later round of the Europa league giving the players an extra fortnights rest. Now that they have made a baws of it aginsy a third rate team hes telling us we're not match sharp. Cant have it all ways Mr Manager.

    Good shout.
I think he made an @rse of it last year too, splitting the squad into 2 for same day games at Morecambe and Cowdenbeath the weekend before playing Krasnodar ---- and look how that turned out

Our Cup record is abysmal under SM. Lets hope I'm eating humble pie on Thursday night.

Stuart McCall has done very well for us but for some reason doesn't seem to do well in cup competitions. In terms of this season's first European game, just too many factors just didn't seem right. Certainly he's had bad luck in Craig Moore's injury and Henri Anier's surprise departure but we should still have been more than capable of disposing of Stjarnan at Fir Park.

Mmm ... pretty worried about the return match; word I had about FP leg was they could've scored at least 2 more in 2nd half? So, on an assumption they need do no more than hold us to a 1-1 draw they'll likely hit us on the break and possibly give us a right reddy !!
