John O'Mara came to us in the early '70's with a big reputation from Brentford (if thats possible). He was a striker (?) & started slowly & went backwards from there. I've heard abuse at Ewood over the years & indeed lobbed a little to Jason Roberts myself but I've never seen /heard anything like the stuff O'Mara took.
He was poor though.
Wilcox took some fearful stuff early in his career but it soon fell away when Dalglish backed him.

Correct.

Same with Atkins plus a change of position.

I'm hopeful that the same could happen with Lowe if he's moved from midfield.

i believe atkins fcked up against liverpool in the fa cup, and took a long time to be forgiven for it..

I agree - but wasn't good enough either. Its a key position & he just was not up to it.
