Burnley are at it again - out Wengering Arsene?

If one thing marks Arsenal apart from the other teams at the top of the Premier League it is Arsene Wengers refusal to throw money at players in the mad scramble for instant success.

His thrifty and parsimonious approach shows the way clubs with smaller budgets have to go - remember for all their perceived lack of success Arsenal always seem to qualify for the Champions League.

But reading for the ump****th time that Burnleys offer for a player "did not meet the current clubs valuation" suggests they have taken his principles to heart - literally.

Take Craig Dawson,Henri Lansbury or Sean Dyches comment of "over 500 phone calls".

Still on the positive side, they shouldnt be left with any white elephants, paying massively over the odds in transfer fees or wages - so no Fernando Torres on the horizon, probably not even any Dickson Etuhu or Danny Murphy

Although it may have been intended as a dig, I think this OP puts Burnley in a very positive light.

It depicts a club refusing to succumb to the pressures that modern day football puts on clubs like Burnley. Just looking back at the messy decade that clubs in the ilk of Portsmouth, Leeds, Wolves, Sheffield Weds, Sheffield United, Coventry etc have had, shows that Mr Dyche is going about his business in the best, albeit not the most exciting, way.

Yep, wouldn't want it any other way. As I have said before I am no fan of the Premier League so relegation is no worry for me at all.

Measured and modest comments from the Burnley fans on our forum...no panic buying.
Just trying to sneak in quality players at about the £2 million mark

No Shane Long at £12 million, which begs the question what is Jordan Rhodes or Danny Ings worth?...Probably about £15 million apiece on that assessment, because I think they are both better goalscorers than Long or Danny Welback at Man.Utd!

And no,Im not joking at all
