There aren't actually that many of our 'kids' playing at the moment, Mike.
Garratt: had a good game today by all accounts; Ray: obviously culpable on Tuesday, but quite sound otherwise in the games so far; Waters: has scored twice and looked a threat, even if it sounded like he was below par today.
Do we include Turton? Outstanding at Barnsley in the cup, but making a few wrong decisions otherwise, though in truth, no more than his more experienced midfield partners. Then there is Nolan, who did little wrong at Fleetwood, and played confidently at Barnsley before being left out.
The players with more league games under their belts, like Molyneux, Tootle, Grant, Dugdale, haven't been up to par overall. Inman can be a threat with his pace, but if coming on after not starting, needs longer to influence a game.
I've said elsewhere that maybe the rotating, interchanging midfield three, which they're trying, is a bit ambitious for this level, and probably needs a consistent 'three' for
