Totally agree with both of you. Players should not need motivating but unfortunately today, the only way it seems you can get them to play is by the promise of money.

Surely though they are more likely to earn more money by securing a first team berth but maybe it just is not enough.

Whisky is right in that they should not need pushing but at least our faith can be partially restored when you look at Burke and Poyet who most certainly could be bothered.
