Stevo if Allardyce does not change his tactics, does not start with his best players and does not learn to make better subs then no imo we wont be ok.

2-1 down today and he still waited far to long to bring on Valencia.

Starting with Vaz Te and then subbing him for Diame who i think most will agree can not play on the wing.

Bringing on Morrison and playing him to deep.

Once again fck knows what he said to them at halftime. Whatever it was it failed completly.

Quite a few of our fans today think we could be going down.

Im not sure, but i would not be to shocked if we did.

    As I said...knee jerk reaction

Why would anyone have cause to boo him. The players we have arent so much the issue, more the way he uses them.

OK its only 3 games in and he might be adjusting as much as the players, trying to introduce a system that is obviously alien to him, but to chose Cole as starting striker doesnt show too much in the way of tweeking the side.

You can slag off the fat man as much as you like but at the end of the day it was basically the same side that played well against the spuds and Palace..the truth is we did not turn up today, Saints were sharper than us, quick incisive passing and closed us down all over the pitch.we were second best in every department and got what we deserved, and that was fu(k all...

Allardyce picked the team, he did not play in the match...the players let us down

Bang on Stevo. Absolutely bang on!!!!!

    Sam out now!

But in all seriousness he'd better shape up as he's only got a result to a rudderless, chaotic but truly great Palace side. Dave's will be getting nervy when the teams loses to Hull before the Liverpool game.

That is the problem.Right there.Allardyce picked the team.He also directed tactics and playing style.

We lost possession everytime the ball was played to Cole. Tomkins likes to launch the ball forward.Does it work ?

Our midfield were slow and ball retention was poor today. Diego Poyet can retain possession and distribute to a team mate.He was available sitting on the bench.

So after 20 mins the evidence was pretty glaring I'd say. Would Mourinho react in that situation ? Would we see other teams in that situation warming up the subs ?

Would another manager, make two changes,re-position playing positions and change tactics ?

Ours chewed gum and watched. But today was the players fault. All on them was it ?

We lost possession all over the pitch not just wen the ball was played

I've never been completely anti FS, but the truth is he's no longer fit for purpose. We're no longer looking to hang on and survive. We're not even trying to make do on a shoe string budget these days.
It's a startling fact that in the last 2 seasons we've spent £40m on forwards and yet some how Carlton Cole is starting up front for us.
If FS stays on we'll probably survive, but 10th place might as well be a champions league spot for all the chance we have at achieving it.

Firstly, we are not in a relegation dogfight. Not in August. But with more displays like yesterday we will be.

For relegated teams there are many categories when it comes to changing a manager once the season starts. The most common are..

    Too soon
    Too late
    Wouldn't have made any difference

Over the last 5 seasons only one club has been relegated having sacked a manager in the first category, that being Burnley in 2010 when Brian Laws went with his team 14th at the time.

Too late ? Loads of them, but most are also in the wouldn't have made any difference category when teams have actually been relegated.

Then there's the stubbornly sticking with the manager and going down. Holloway, Martinez etc, but their teams had a style about them. Blackpool were never good enough and Wigan won the cup. At least their fans had something to smile about.

Then the final piece of the puzzle. Changing direction.

Southampton made the inspired decision to sack Nigel Adkins. He was popular and altho

    Morning,

Steve`s right to a degree imo, we were awful but that was largely down to their performance, if we had been played off the park by a top 4 there wouldn't be this fury, but it was Southampton, sold all their best players, new manager, a game WE ALL expected to win comfortably, for me congratulations are in order for the way Southampton went about their business and took us apart bit by bit.

I havnt yet seen any highlights so I`m not going to bore you all with my opinion of what went wrong with US, but in simple terms if you don't have the football and use it well you will get beat, Southampton did everything right yesterday.

    Well Done.

Honestly speaking, i put us down for a draw and i will admit i felt this was a game that could go their way.

Having said that, i never imagined it would happen in such a poor manner. Southampton thoroughly deserved their win for all the hard work they did on the pitch. We for all our let
