    Modibo Maiga

Am watching him playing for FC Metz v Lyon in Le Ligue 1 on tv at the moment.

My understanding is that he will be with them on a season-long loan with the French club retaining an option to sign him permanently io summer 2015.

Commentator has said he appears to be lacking match fitness and that he was frozen out by Sam and not taken on the pre-season tour after returning from being on loan to QPR, being made to train instead with the Development Squad prior to departing for Metz.

Anyone know why he was treated so harshly by our club?

My understanding is that Sam said he would never play again so the board tried to terminate his contract and negotiate a pay-off but he refused any compromise.

'Maiga chasing an up and under, he must be used to doing that under Sam Allardyce at West Ham!" said the commentator just now.

Off after 63 mins. Ran out of steam. Played well enough though and put Lyon defenders under pressure in the air.

I don't know mate, perhaps Sam just realised that he couldn't work within the confines of the current system? Just a guess.

Just shows what a weird and wonderful game football is scored against Southampton and spurs in games we won but with a supposedly better squad we cannot pick up points at home!

He did not cut the mustard. It is a reality of football, if he is not going to be an active part of the squad; why have him around!?!
