I'm sure many many years ago Rolls Royce as it was then used to have an advert in the programme especially when David Plastow was managing-director.

Will have to venture in the loft.

My girlfriend, now wife, worked in the sales office about 1962/3 when David Plastow was MD. She got to see all the millionaires coming over to choose the specifications etc.

I just wonder if its a lack of the usual marketing expertise that let us down with both RR and Bentley. It is difficult to see what was in for them but sponsors nowadays spend millions on football and related stuff. You would think a world famous academy which we are supposed to be would be of interest.

Did you work there around the same time CD? I assumed you are a young kid?

Yeah did my apprenticeship back in 1988-1991 where I became an engineer mainly setting the machines when RR use to make all their parts down to washers.

Unfortunately the dark days of the 1991 recession saw all the apprentices that year not taken on so in December 1991 we were finished.

After working for Royal Mail for 18 years I returned to Bentley in 2012 where I initially worked in security for 18 months and now I'm in logistics.

Stop serving cheap (and good) pints for 5 mins; walk across the road to that appalling shop stuck on the side of the football Mecca; and they've got loads.
Please don't be reading it when I want serving on Saturday. X-D

Ex Crewe Works and Rolls Royce Apprentices can turn their hand to anything! And in most cases, have to!

Wasn't David Plastow on the board of the Alex for a while?
