West Ham v Burnley - Official Match Thread

Let's get the ball rolling, so to speak.

This weekend we travel Oop North to meet winless Burnley. Normally this would spell a certain win for Burnley but we are riding on the crest of The Allardyce Revolution

Our total record against Burnley is 32 wins, 31 losses & 17 draws. However in the league they edge us 31-26. In the last 33 years we've won 3, drawn 3 & lost 2 league games against them including a 5-3 win at home four years ago.

There have been plenty of high scoring games in the past with 37 of the 80 meetings yielding four goals or more, with a fair few 5+ goals from one or other of the teams.

So far this season they have only scored 3 goals in 7 league games although they have drawn 4 of their last 5 - three of them 0-0 (with a 4 nil loss at WBA in between). Only Chelsea have scored at their ground in the league this season - and that was back on the opening day.

There are question marks over Noble, Demel, Jenkinson, O'Brien & Collins but we appear to have strength

    Nice post Taansend.
we have had bad injuries to key players but remain hard to beat and organised...many of our fans see saturday as our first real opportunity of 3 points with us being at home against a team that probably isn't going to be in the top 6 this season.
our claretsmad board is possibly the busiest of any club and any travelling hammers should pop on there if they need to know pubs...etc near ground...personally I like Fullidge conservative club on plumbe street for a decent pre match pint...3 or 4 minutes from the away end...have a good trip hammers...but not too good eh .

I would hope for a comfortable win and a similar team to the last game which seems like a lifetime ago. Perhaps Valencia will score?

I'll go for a 2-0 win with goals from Downing and Tomkins.

The biggers questionmark is who to play at RB if Demel, Jenkinsson and O'Brien would all be injured
