Who's this Ilkeston FC striker then?

If the Beeb can be trusted we are in the frame to sign Che Adams from Ilkeston FC (see link). Does anybody know anything about him? We are certainly a better bet for his future than a PL side, where he'd be shuffled into the reserves and lf to rot.
Must be about the best thing to come out of Ilkeston since Robert Lindsay - and his footballing skills are questionable. :-D - view external link

We no longer lead the race. We made an offer and Ilkeston went public to draw in more offers - understandable. We do not head any financial queue.

Up to the lad to make a football decision.

Better Che Adams than Ched Evans, certainly.

But, AlexL, if we're falling down the queue to sign this lad, can you not get up to Ilkeston and doorstep the lad and his family?

The Alex pay a standard mileage allowance of 30p.

I'm on my way. I'll pick Fever_Tox up on the way (he's bigger than me). X-D

I used to work in Ilkeston - horrible place: young Che should be clawing at the border post watch towers to get out and go to scenic, beautiful Crewe.

He is a quality player...strong, powerful, pacey and can finish. He plays either up top are in behind the main striker and would score goals at league one level without a doubt.

Ilkeston have to think of their own finances and know that by going public they will start a bidding war which, unfortunately, will see us lose out.

Really, really hope we can get him though.

Blummin eck,Crewe interested in a player from Ilson, have seen reports in Derby Telegraph about Mr Adams, normally with the sentence "how long can Ilkeston hold onto Che Adams?"

The only part of Ilson that's "horrible" is the part that faces over the border in notts.
This is deliberate,we're trying to encourage them to stay in notts

Signed by Clough for Sheffield United I see. More local and obviously much bigger wage packet.

It'll give Cloughie a further excuse to disparage us.

But let him go there; after all, their need is greater than ours.

And if we couldn't make anything out of Vadaine, who is to say that all the 'development' Steve was offering would have worked for this player either?
