...and do they work in the dark?
Do these work?
I always stick at around 52 / 53 mph and am always amazed at people flying past me. They must be doing 60 mph at least.
...and do they work in the dark?
Yes they do work. They will be set at 10 percent plus 2 I think ish? So basically stay under 55 and you'll be fine.Originally Posted by one_a_day
If you use a Tom Tom then that is an accurate speed. 50mph on that will be about 53mph on your speedo.
It does make me laugh watching the numpties speed up to the cameras and then slow down! What part of AVERAGE do they not understand.
Average?
What does that mean?
3 points and an 80 quid fine...Originally Posted by jolly_roger

Yes they do work and yes they work in the dark if they're switched on, you can easily tell if they're switched on in dark because of the red glow which is the Infrared illuminator for night vision. They're video cameras that are constantly recording that's how they work without any lines on the road.
They're set to to get anyone averaging over 57MPH so I've been told, I do 55MPH mostly using the sat nav speedo, which is about 58MPH on the in car one and I've done that constant from one camera to the other before. Also as far as I know they can't work if you switch lanes after passing each camera as the system only checks one lane, That probably explains why I've seen quite a few doing 70 plus at night.
