    O/T Football Socks

    For years and years footballers wore their socks up below the knees. We had the great Tony Towner and one or two other (Gerry Gow?) who rolled their sock down.

    What benefit do modern footballers get from wearing socks above the knees?

    Wearing them above their knees stops their knees getting grazed when they dive about

    I can just about put up with tbe long socks but the suspenders is going a bit far.
