    The Way Ahead ...

... sell Fir Park and move in with Accies. In the style of the other 2 stands, build a 3rd along the open side of the ground using seats from FP. This to accommodate 3,000-3,500 say with safe standing incorporated and decent facilities for fans underneath - toilets, eateries, bars, corporate, retail, etc.,

FP is a white elephant, a drain on resources. Lets be progressive, and save our Club.

Fir Park is done but don't think moving into Accies pokey ground with no options for generating cash outside of the match day. Ideal solution would be sell both grounds and build one in Strathclyde Park with attractions to make folks spend money other than just going to the game. Perfect world and will never happen. Frankly if we put an artificial surface in we would save ourselves a fortune and frankly thats all that Accies ground would offer. We could do that ourselves.

The POD is costing us a fortune in maintenance and the facilities in the East are a disgrace. There's nothing at FP to attract income streams outwith matchday that could not be replicated and then some over at Accies.

And with a 3rd stand it wouldn't be pokey. Currently holds 6000. A new stand would take that to 9000(ish). Thats more than enough these days.

FP has for some time been past its sell-by-date.

Having sat in what they call a stand at Hamilton on New Years Day getting drenched. I wouldnt wish the experience on my worst enemy never mind putting fellow ''WELL'' fans through it. Fir Park is dated and has it problems but I wouldn't give it up to go and play in a wind tunnel at Hamilton

I just feel as soon as you move out of the town you represent part of the club dies and they rarely go forward. For the life of me I can't think of a club that flourished and sustained its improvement by moving out of its home town... Im sure some might be able to think of some but I can't.

Our fan base is from all over the 'Shire.

Ideally something better in the town is what I'd like to see, but there's no free land, and in our current state we cannot afford a CEO let alone a new home.

I'm standing way out in leftfield, I know that. But we need to do something.

An interesting thread and I sympathise with the idea that "we need to do something" but we know there isn't the money around.

I think the longer term answer will involve Ravenscraig and shared use of a publically owned stadium.

Completely agree JWOK. Relocating to Hamilton is not the answer.
