Aaron Lennon Ready To Play His Part In The Merseyside Derby

New boy set for Reds clash

Everton manager Roberto Martinez claims new signing Aaron Lennon is fit and ready to play his part in the Merseyside derby on Saturday.

The England winger is on loan until the end of the season and is ready to play a big part, having missed regular first team football at Spurs.

The 27-year-old former Leeds player is fit and ready to go and looks set to feature on Saturday evening, although he may have to be content with a place on the bench.

"Aaron is very focused, ready to train and perform," Martinez said.

"When you sign a player in January it is very difficult to find someone who is up to speed with his fitness. "But he is. He's an incredible player, he is fully fit, and ready to make an impact and be involved at the weekend - that is very rare with a January signing."

Nice to see him make an appearance against Liverpool. I really feel he will be a bit of an asset to us to be honest... the grumpy ****er
