The Football League has charged Rotherham United with fielding an ineligible player (Farrend Rawson) in the club's Sky Bet Championship match with Brighton & Hove Albion on Monday, April 6, which the Millers won 1-0.
The matter will be heard by a Football Disciplinary Commission which will take place at the earliest possible opportunity to ensure that it reaches its conclusion before the end of the current season.
Wimbledon were deducted three points and fined £5.000 last season for the same offence.

Fat Steve will Buster Blood Vessel the Bad Mannered Cnut
Looks like we have broken the rules so it will probs be a 3 point deduction.
Ah well. it may make us battle even more now though I suspect if you lions needed any additional incentive you have now got it.
It's a farce in it?
Could it be a six point deduction in total ?
Three points they gained and three points for the illegible player?
Could be a lifeline but I still think it will be very difficult to stay up.Originally Posted by scotslion58
Rules are rules mate and should be respected. Having said that I would prefer to stay up by what we do on the pitch and not by what is decided by a disciplinary committee. Anyway if we do survive because of any points deduction that might hit the Millers...I will not lose any sleep!!Originally Posted by PeteWaller
As they won the match and gained three points then that should be the amount deducted but if the football league want to make it six points you won't hear us moaning about it.Originally Posted by alfinyalcabo

No complaints from me either, rules are rules. How can a professionally run club be so stupid though. Hard enough in this League without these bloopers and what a time to do it!
O to be a Miller
To save you reading 570 pages of the handbook, see below:
6.9 PLAYING AN INELIGIBLE PLAYER
Any Club found to have played an ineligible Player in a match shall have any points gained
from that match deducted from its record and have levied upon it a fi ne. The Company
may vary this decision in respect of the points gained only in circumstances where the
ineligibility is due to the failure to obtain an International Transfer Certifi cate or where the
ineligibility is related to the Player’s status only.
The Board may also order that such match be replayed on such terms as are decided by the
Board which may also levy penalty points against the Club in default.
