Thread: 'Proper' players...

    'Proper' players...

    The words 'legend and 'hero' etc get bandied round too easily as we all know but I'm watching Soccer AM and there is one Ian Taylor [ex-Villa, Port Vale] and he is for me a 'proper player'.
    So lads who else would you put into the catagory.

    My Rovers choice might not be expected to people who know me, ie Garno.
    No, I would pick Alan Ainscow. He could play on either side and would run himself into the ground. I also saw him once play for Horwich RMI of all teams when I lived there.

    John Wark . No nonsense proper player , also Mickey Speight who played for us , hard man , hard shot and a proper player .

    Great shout John Wark Needs. I think Speight might have played in the same team as Ainscow. Not sure though.

    Another player that comes to mind. Dennis Rofe, Leicester methinks.
