Another great bit of business us selling the now Chelsea and England Centre back for in the region of £7m we probably got nearer to £5m for him,his current value is £18m.
Gary Cahill added to his list of honours on Sunday, as he helped Chelsea to a fourth Premier League title with a 1-0 victory over Crystal Palace.
Cahill, who represented Bolton between 2008 and 2012, had already won the FA Cup, League Cup, UEFA Champions League and UEFA Europa League during his three-and-a-half years at Stamford Bridge, but added a first league title as Jose Mourinho's side cemented their status as English champions.
The 29-year-old was making his 45th appearance of the campaign for the Blues, who beat Palace courtesy of an Eden Hazard goal deep into the first half - as he headed home a rebound, after Julian Speroni had saved from the penalty spot.
Cahill has been a major part of a defence which has conceded just 27 goals in 35 league matches this season, with a record of 25 wins, eight draws and just two defeats leaving them 16 points clear of nearest challengers Manchester City and Arsenal with three games left to play.
The only club honours missing from Cahill's

Coyle spent £3.5 million on his replacement, Tim Ream, great bit of business, we never focused on offering him a serious new contract so had to let him go on the cheap or on a free at the end of the season. Probably would have been better keeping him, don't think we would have gone down, his last game was a 2-1 win at Everton, he scored. Remmber Ream missing a sitter of a header away at Stoke on the last day, Cahill would have buried it
I'm sure if the club could have kept him, they would have done. When the big clubs come knocking, a club like ours usually has to sell or risk losing the player on a free.
As lord_hooray mentioned, I'm pretty sure we sold him on the cheap because we'd failed to tie him into a new, long-term contract.
Here he is just after scoring the winner away at Stoke in 2005...
From what I heard ages ago Cahill was offered a new contract that would have made him the highest-paid player at the club but turned it down. He knew he could get a massively better deal from a bigger club. Or rather his agent did!!
We could have offloaded him earlier for a better fee but can you imagine the meltdown that would have happened? campo would have exploded on here
Hindsight is a wonderful thing. It makes experts of many. That said, it was most definitely a situation not handled well by the club in the end
