    re: Queens v Rangers

Queens discipline let them down badly in the second half. Playing against a far superior team there was simply no point in jeopardising future matches by taking bookings through frustration, as that will only lead to future suspensions against lesser opposition.
I'm sorry, but at 35 years old Mr. Lyle should know better. Lyle should be fined for not only letting his team down, but for also destroying the match as a spectacle for the 5858 paying customers and the many thousands watching on TV. With just 3 minutes of the second half gone, Lyle behaved like a petulant 17 year old and to be quite frank, we could all have done a lot more with our Sunday than watch a very one sided match become a stroll in the park.
Rangers were worthy winners, but Fowler must do something about the indiscipline, as well as Lyle's unacceptable behaviour and Russell's tedious diving.

Pass marks are awarded to two of Queen's youngest players Marshall and Smith who gave 100% and didn't resort to the in

No complaints - we should have been level at half-time - Lyle like last season against Dumbarton let his side down - Time for Smith to step up to the table but it looks like a hard season ahead unless we sign a striker asap.

The match was completely ruined by the sending off and several fans took the easy option and headed home early.

" Anyway it gives young Aidan Smith a chance to shine now,.. so we will probably start with Heffernann...
Conroy the free kick master so we let Miller take them (the last few games as well). What is that about?!?!?! "

Another dig at the Manager then - maybe Killie will come in sooner rather than later to put you out of your misery.

Maybe you couldn't work it out but the free- kick to which you refer was in completely the wrong place for Conroy to attempt although Del Boy had a great try from around there on Tuesday night.

I am a big fan of Derek Lyle but he really let himself and the team down today by giving the officials a decision to make. Prior to that he had won a substantial number of headers and provided numerous flick-ons that were not capitalised on.

Thought Millar played very well and he and Jacobs are very effective in their respective roles in midfield. Marshall continues to impress.

It seems a sore one to take, especially after the superb results of la

Ok we got humped today by a better team, take a reality check we have played 4 games and have 9 points realistically at the start of the season how many points did you expect us to have after 4 games, as for Del we are ALL allowed an off day at work.

Why, can he not position himself from the opposite side of the ball or something?

Talk about shooting ourselves in the foot . I feel today that we were sadly lacking on and off the field in some aspects when we needed to be performance and organised wise to be at our best to have a chance. No excuse for Lyle to get involved in that, none at all and he let the side down. What is it with Conroy ? He ambled about almost lethargic and totally out of position . He has scored twice already from direct free kicks , also hitting the post and he inexplicably doesn't take one of the rare chances we get . Are we getting that many against Rangers that it doesn't matter ? That brings me onto the manager . He might be a bright young thing but I would argue that a bright young would not have played a left footed player in right mid when we have a perfectly hood right footed attacker on the bench ( Kidd). This of course led to Conroy passing inside instead of shooting because the ball ended up on his right side . Difficult task we had but let's make it more so eh ?

Having now seen the sending off incident on Sportscene , I will have to go back on what I said about Lyle letting the team down. He was very unlucky to be sent off and unbelievably the rangers player / instigator gets no punishment . Two yellows and no one would have any grounds for complaint .
