Brentford and Rotherham Part Company With Their Managers Today

With less than ten league games played and both are now out of work. The sacking season is upon us. Two wins in eight for Brentford and two wins in nine for Rotherham, Steve Evans and his former Rotherham side had looked like turning the corner in winning their last two league games. A larger than life character and has done an excellent job for the Millers.

A bit of a gamble from the Brentford board to put development squad coach Lee Carsley in charge for the rest of the season. - view external link

Surprised by the timing regarding Evans. Obviously not off to the start they wanted, but they were in form....could have probably waited til the next international break to make the decision.

Rotherham play Burnley at home on Friday. In my opinion, why not wait until after that game? The International break is upon us after the weekend's fixtures anyway. The old line of the chairman and manager wanting different things. The chairman and manager are judged on decisions they make. Only time will tell if the decision to get rid of Evans is a good one.

And I have to imagine the players really like Evans, having led them to back-to-back promotions a few years ago and being at the helm for survival last season. Could backfire. I think players would understand if the sacking occurred after a big loss or bad run of form. But I'm sure they believed they were back on the right tra
