Team wise we only replaced at CB. 3 different goalkeepers this season. All sorts of combinations at right back. No proper replacement for Morgan and too much reliance on one goalscorer.
Got a theory on why we've become so sheite at the moment !?
No fight, no energy, no team spirit, no aggression, no organisation, no variation, no surprises, no will, no luck, no clue ......!?
Where's it all gone and why ?

Because at the end of the day you're just a small town club punching above your weight. When you are fortunate to have any good players they'll just move eventually to the bigger clubs. When you eventually drop down to the lower divisions which you will, just look on these times as the good times.Originally Posted by kernow

Small town club ? Wrong.
Punching above our weight ? Could be two thirds of the clubs in the PL you're describing there.
We've been fortunate to have many good players, not all of whom have left for bigger clubs.
We may or may not drop down to lower divisions.
Anyway been there, done that, good times they were..
Kernow, to answer your question, it would appear not!
Anyway Happy Christmas to you and all your fellow hibernating Southampton fans
I'm still around.
Likewise, Merry Christmas to you, to all Saints fans and even to those visiting from the dark side who have suddenly reappeared from the rock they have been hiding under.
Yep, merry Christmas one and all, and happy birthday wife, (not that she reads on here!)
The club stood still last summer and took last season for granted. Morgan wasn't adequately replaced, neither was Clyne. A new (decent) Striker was a MUST this was identified by most fans last season, with Pelle the only real choice we are one dimensional and easy to counter. Shane Long is a trier but he is not a natural goal scorer and Juanmi is out of his depth. Don't get me started on Martina (I mean WTF!?)
All the bullsheet Les Reed spouted about Champs League and nipping in there when the big guns fail is a joke because we don't spend enough and we don't keep our best players. They need to wake up and get the cheque book out this January and in the summer if they want to keep the same goals. Meanwhile...Leicester, Stoke, West Ham and Watford all sail past us...infuriating!
Still, it's Christmas so never mind all that. Merry Christmas you lot, sorry I don't post much anymore, to be honest it's too much hassle as they've ballsed the format up so much.
Seasons Greetings !! O:
Happy Christmas everyone.
It seems to be a pattern we repeat - a drop off around Q4, with a saving-grace recovery in Q1.
Pelle is on his own, and Shane Long is good for what he was brought in for - high-impact last 15 minute poacher.
I like Mane, and Tadic has his moments, but not been hugely impressed with Classe yet, but want him to do well. JWP - really doesnīt impress me and if he is our man to take free kicks, we have issues.
We seem to play a lot of lovely passing, and itīs fun to watch, but there is no real ability to finish with a goal.
Merry Christmas it is indeed ! Hope you're all having a good one.
Last night's performance and result have certainly brightened up the football perspective at least.

The question will always remain as to how the Saints can be so unrecognizable from one week to another !?
That list of assets missing from the previous six matches were there in abundance last night and with that came the return of confidence of individual players and the team as a whole to play to their strengths. For a change the tactics were spot on also, Saints played as though they were the away team and they couldn't handle the pace and energy of Saints' attack and the dominance of the midfield. The opening goal was something special and totally unexpected. It changed the whole atmosphere and the game. Could it change our whole season ?
