    Andreas Breivik - an interesting case study in nationalist 'thinking'

    He murdered 77 of his 'own' fellow citizens. Young people brutally mowen down in the prime of their lives by a self-declared nationalist who felt he had the right to define his 'nation' as he saw fit. Not for anything they had done, but because they didn't fit into his warped view of 'his' fatherland. Maybe he saw them as traitors.

    Thankfully, the Norwegian nation and most of its people are above filth like him. He will deservedly rot for a long time in his jail cell.

    I've always admired Norway and its people. They clearly won't tolerate Breivik and his vile ideology but seem to be prepared to admit that even he, that's the person who has murdered more Norwegians than anyone since the SS, has human rights.

    A sense of balance and perspective to the emotional and difficult issues of crime, punishment and tolerance is in evidence here. Something many other co
