I hate the idea of France winning a tournament again (like they did in 98 & 00 with all the alleged bribery involving Platini).
But judging by that lucky result tonight, it wouldnt surprise me if they do win it.

What has Platini been done for, or is being investigated for ? Everything they did in 98 made me think that him and Blatter were pulling allsorts of dodgy strings behind the scenes.
To be honest though Ive seen it suggested that both England & Argentina were also 'gifted' their world cup wins as hosts. So it wouldnt surprise me if that was true.

Acido: Unless I am really mistaken Platini did not become President of UEFA until 2007 so had phuck all to do with ´98 or 2000. The fact is that France had an exceptionally good side lead by a certain Zidane coupled with a maximum amount of luck in 98 but in 2000 they were way above the other teams and no rub of the green was needed.
