It was the left section of the Beach End. The centre was “The Centre”, and “The Right Side” was…well you get the gist.
The Left Side was the loudest, most profane in its lyrical
oeuvre, and most likely to engage opposition minkers who dared to encroach. In pre-segregation days, or course.
I think the nearest it came to Marxist insurrection at the price of a pie, was singing The Red Flag, but with suitably-altered lyrics, including:
“When in the muck
We’ll fight like fuçk
To keep The Red Flag flying here”
