    Why not?

England are a laughing stock now trying to play football, imagine the hysterics around the world if we went back to the 70's style long ball.
Football has moved on, give him 10 years and he would put us back 40, because he has a thick skin and is a stayer.
What particular know how has he got?

You could probably say that about them all over the years apart from the good ones that had to depart sooner than expected.

I thought he made silk purse out of a pigs ear at Upton Park

But what do you know that I don't? Spill the beans Les

That's an interesting statement Gaz "apart from the good ones that had to depart sooner than expected" Who were they?

It's no coincidence that even rubbish teams like west ham didn't want him as manager any more and they got better under a different manager (one that appears to play football on the ground)

I would go for Hoddle or (if a foreign manager Klinsman)

Howe would not be able to handle the pressure or the egos, he couldn't even manage living up North (mind you, NOBODY wants to live in burnley)

You are probably right about Howe

You mention Hoddle and you ask me who I meant when I said "apart from the good ones that had to depart sooner than expected"

    :-/

    Here's a linky for you Les ;-) http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/sport/football/270194.stm

Who hasn't, but I guess you're referring to the time he left you for Bolton?

I am not a massive fan of him anyhow

I hope fat Sam gets the job.
Another West Ham link that will salvage England like West Ham did in 1966.
