I've got him on ignore, removes the temptation to wind him up. That combined with the football stickies makes much more enjoyable reading.

More Brexit irony, one of the stated aims of Brexit was to avoid unelected officials having a say in Uk government, then the Tories appoint "Lord" Frost to a cabinet post, despite not being an elected politician!

As usual you miss the point, unlike EU the UK administration that appointed him CAN be removed if the plebs don't like it. IMO not going to happen this side of a human Mars landing but the opportunity's there

So unelected Cummings leads the original Brexit negotiations, and now equally unelected Lord Frost (of Allenton no less) joins the Cabinet...and you think Swale has missed the point?

Haven't missed any point, Frost was not elected by anybody to hold a cabinet post, sure we can in a few years remove the administration, but in the meantime an unelected person is in government and making crucial decisions impacting on a lot of the "plebs2.

Also the EU politicians are elected, the fact that the electorate didn't seem to understand or care about the EU elections merely shows that the original premise of the Brexiteers (as with most of their rother arguments wasn't valid).

Yes, his original point was about the ability of an electorate to remove an administration not about the ability of an administration to appoint unelected officers

Just let it go Andy, the crying will never stop.
I saw a survey a few days ago, saying support for rejoining was down to 40%.
Though most polls are tosh, IMO the overall feeling is still glad we are out.
The lying from the EU continues, just yesterday Charles Michel had to retract his outrageous comment that the UK was banning vaccines for export.
First AZ vaccine is rubbish and doesn't work/then they want it and invoke article 16 out of spite/ then they change regulation to try and stop exports. It just goes on and on and folks take notice of this.

So Swales veiled attempt to claim we do what what the EU does democratically is bull. Who ever the government employs, is only in the job as long as the government hangs in there. Try shifting an unelected EU bureaucrat if you can.

Just throwing my twopennyworth in there.......... The EU Commission is appointed by the EU Parliament, just like Frosty has been appointed by BoJo.

But wasn’t one of the cornerstones of the Brexiteers’ argument that they didn’t like being ‘governed’ by an unelected ‘elite’?
