    The Main Man...

Portsmouth have signed striker Curtis Main from Doncaster Rovers for an undisclosed fee on a two-year deal.

The 24-year-old former Middlesbrough player has the option to extend his contract by a further 12 months.

Main scored four goals in 18 league games while on loan at Oldham last season after falling out of favour at his parent club.

He is Portsmouth's eighth summer signing as they look to improve on their play-off finish last season.

It must be nice for Cook this year to only need to tweek his squad as he suggested after the playoffs, I'd hate to think how many players he would have needed to sign if he had wanted to overhaul the squad.

Yes, keeper now please. Six foot three plus, brave as a lion, good with crosses, cool head in a crisis... Scoulari at Granada would be a good bet.

Scoulari's wage demands might be a little excessive.

I could sort him out with a desirable Gosport waterfront apartment.
