    The feel good factor

I know it's still very early doors but there's a real feel good factor at Palmerston right now . Credit to the BOD's for the signing of fans favourite Steven Dobbie and I've been really impressed with Gavin Skelton and some of the youngsters that have been given their chance .

Good also to see a bigger than usual crowd at the weekend and the return of some familiar faces I've not seen at a Queens game for a few years . If you're reading this and you've not seen Queens yet then get across on Saturday to see a team who want to play football , who want to attack and who want to win . Oh and Steven Dobbie

    C'mon you Queens

I heard the Ayr support was around the 270 mark. This means just over 1700 home fans which is a big improvement on recent times . In an ideal world some of these people wouldn't be as fickle and back as ( attend) when they can. I expect the crowd this Saturday to go over the 2,000 mark and we couldnt sniff at that looking at the last few years .

Of course we have had very lean years in the not too distant past, but how sad it is for Scottish football generally and Queen of the South specifically that we would now seem to find it more than acceptable to have an attendance in excess of 2000 for what must be one of the season's more attractive fixtures.

The 12,000 free tickets handed out to the Youth Beatz event down the Dock Park all day Saturday might of had something to do with it

When I mentioned an attendance of 2000 I was referring, of course, to JRS's expectation of a such a crowd at Saturday's coming game with Falkirk so, johnny_dumfries, the 12,000 free tickets for Youth Beatz have no relevance.

I didn't mean to make out that a 2,000 crowd would be a great achievement . In a glass half full way, I am saying that in light of the poor 1500 and even less crowds of the recent past then a 2,000 attendance would be a step in the right direction.

Unfortunately, JRS, in this day and age a "crowd" of 2000+ probably is a great achievement. Don't forget that last season, with the exception of the games against Rangers and Hibs, Queens broke the 2000 barrier only once: that was against St Mirren when the official attendance was 2001.
