Hughes ..... Has his time passed?

As predicted Hendrick has left for big money before Hughes. In fact it's now four years and 8 transfer windows since swaledale and a few other were saying Hughes was the new scholes, would be playing for England and be gone that Christmas for An amount similar to what Hendrick has left for. Continuously mocking those that even suggested other wise. He who laughs last hey

Anyway over those years players of a similar age like once and Saha have been bought and moved on from big clubs. Players like Bamford and now Oliver Burke have been picked up from te red dogs for big money. At open evenings the club heirarchy has said no bids have been received for Hughes. It's clear now we will sell for the right price and big bids do make it into the public domain very quickly. Even six months ago who would beleive we would loan out Martin?

Both Hughes and Hendrick have had serious injury and been out. Both have been asked to show versatility and variation of skill. Through that only one has performed and been given the chance to do so at international level and at a major tournament. The other now appears to be being asked to show some complete skills and struggling to do so.

So the question is now Hughes is not a young player considering any more. Seems to have not been picked up early and tried at full international level being over looked for others younger. Has his time passed and as with the turn round of amateurs fortunes as what appears Hughes failing to adapt has his time passed and indeed we'd be lucky to get £500k for him?

I know you like to compare like for like,

    Hendrick is 24 - Hughes is 21.
Ireland has a population of 4.5 Million - England has a population of 53 million.

Hendricks only performed for us 50% of the time. Hughes I would say 90% when he plays in an attacking role.

How much would we have got for Hendrick 3 years ago?

I've asked you before to show the post where you predicted Hendrick would leave for big money..still waiting.

In point of fact I never did predict Hughes would be gone or state what the fee would be, I in fact queried the fees being stated and said that his value was whatever a buying club thought he was worth!

Hendrick's performance at the Euro's has in large part brought about this move, time will tell whether its money well spent, though Dyche does seem to be able to get the best out of what in premier league terms are average players.

For me Hendrick was good but not consistently so and IF Hughes had been able to showcase his undoubted talent on the international stage maybe he would attract such bids? Its certainly time for Hughes potential to be realised, but as a poster has pointed out, the guy is only 21.

A few more questions about your post

What big money has Bamford been sold for?

What do forest fans think about Burke being sold for £13m? The same Derby fans would feel if Hughes was sold for less than £15m.

Other than Dele Ali what central midfielder is younger than Hughes that has recently played for England's 1st team?

Nice try Rats. What a wum. My only worry about Hughes is that his talent is being largely wasted at the moment and, taking into account that he is still only 21 - no longer a young player on Planet Rat - this may knock his confidence.

Rats Never thought you could top the rubbish you post you've managed to Where were you 2yrs ago when Rush said.the club had turned down a £15million bid from Liverpool If your so clever who was the last Championship player to play for England You only need too have owned an Irish setter to qualify for Ireland For someone who admits he didn't watch the team your not opinions are not to be taken seriously

Id say in this market I value Hughes at 20 mill. I'm glad no one seems willing to pay that. Twice the player Hendrick is.
