Ross County ahead, will ICT lessons be learned?

Motherwell face part two of the Highland double on Saturday when Ross County come to Fir Park. Between them the teams have one win in the last seven**** games, don't expect too much! - External Link

Ross County have scored twice in the last eight games (one against us, unsurprisingly) and have conceded 11 in the last four...this is a no ifs, no buts, must win.

Then again, they'll look at our record and say the same about us...

I'd drop Samson for Brill but unless Ferguson is suddenly being chucked in at the back it's doubtful we can do much for the defence. Would be tempted for a central (ish) trio of Lasley behind Clay and Cadden and tell Ainsworth to pick a wing. McDonald back in for Bowman as the link player with Moult properly up top again.

Far from convinced it will work but unlikely to be any worse than Wednesday.

The one straw to cling to is after the appalling display against Killie in February, when we looked doomed, we actually managed to pull it together and go on a very positive run...time for something similar.

What last night proved once again is that without Skippy our team has no cohesion. He must play, unless injured, in every game.
For me, Caden was only player with pass marks. Although McMannus was the only left footer in the team and
as a result there was a real imbalance, think it is time to play Kennedy.

Kennedy wasn't even on the bench so I'm assuming he's not fit....but aye, we can't go on like we are atm at the back, he's due a chance if possible.

Kennedy played for Under 20's on Tuesday night along with Thomas and Blyth.IMO we just don't look capable of creating scoring opportunities as long as all we do is punt high balls to our strikers, our midfield lacks someone you can make the telling pass or darting run, young Cadden needs to be played wide in the midfield not through the middle.I have also lost count the number of goals we have lost from outside the box to opposition players who are left unmarked whilst we have everyone of our players packed in our area. Our defending at set pieces is a joke with what appears to be no real structure or tactics regarding marking or positioning. The players look like they are a group of players who have lost faith in their manager and this is being transmitted to the fans, and without fans we have no football club.

Kennedy is worse than the current 2. Agree Cadden is never a centre midfielder and should be played out wide, he needs space to attack and is great at tracking back and covering the fb.
Ainsworth must be due a chance. McDonald has been poor all season by his standards, doesn't want to be here. Much rather have Bowman playing, not as good a player but gives his all.
No mater who plays we can't keep thumping the ball aimlesly into the box. Keep the ball down and play wide, get in behind and turn their centre halfs. If we play like that we'll win. I don't know where that came from the other night but McGhee must know it didn't work. Another performance like that and he's in the ****.....no mater how good he thinks the performances have been. Not kidding any one.
    Hope springs eternal...

We have little guile; should Faddy start tomorrow?

I would agree with that. We really lack creativity, plenty of effort but we don't have that wee bit of cutting edge at the moment.
Love Faddy but not sure if he would make a difference. Not the worst idea if he's played in behind Moult and we keep the ball on the deck.
    Are Arnott & Coyne available?

Arnott and Coyne.......How much do you think we would bring in on tranfser fees for those two these days.

Faddy can't run. I love the guy but the only way he can play top flight footie now - and even then it's a stretch - is with a bunch of youthful whippets belting up and down the pitch around him, something which is the polar opposite of our squad.
